Random questions.

This is a rare post. I'm kind of testing something out, so I'm going just ask this one question: Any questions? Do you have any questions that you would like me to answer about me....or anything for that fact. But remember I want my blog to be one that glorifies God.

I hope I am not opening a can of worms.....

P.S.
I'll have to answer the questions whenever I get the chance......it seems I will be tied up this weekend and the coming week.

My first question of curiosity is:

You never gave your thoughts or conclusions regarding that post about if Christian rock music is o.k. to listen to.

So, my question is: what are YOUR thoughts? What do you believe and what are your conclusions regarding the question you posted.

NOTE TO EVERYONE:

I'll just answer all the questions in a blog post this weekend, so be sure to ask me your random question(s) before then! :)

1) When are you going to post a video of you playing the violin?

2) Why do you change your blog template so often?

3) What are your favorite two subjects in school this year?

4) What do you like most about yourself?

5) If you had to describe yourself with five words, what would they be?

6) Where would you like to be in five years? (If the Lord tarries)

7) Do you think your Aunt Joyce asks too many questions? :)

Love you...

Hey, I found your blog because you're tracking mine. I'm just curious to know how you found us (my guess is you know Kole in person...maybe?)

The blog I'm referring to is Our Life Savior.

My next question:

Why, I mean WHY, do you like Third Day so much??

Brooke said...

You're listening to to them and singing to their songs right now by the way....

This is my speech for the debate. Sorry it's so long. "First, I believe that me need to define “secular music.” What is “secular music”? The dictionary* definition of “secular” is, “Worldly rather than spirit ual” or “not specifically relating to religion or to a religious body” I like the second definition, and would rephrase it this way, “not directly relating to religion.”

And with this definition, would that make music like classical or instrumental “secular”?

I believe that is matters not what type of music it is, but what your motives or wants are, while listening to the music. Meaning that I believe that “secular” music listened to with a right heart or with right motives is better, than someone listening to christian music with a wrong heart or bad motives.

Amos 5:23 says, “Take away from Me the noise of your songs; I will not even listen to the sound of your harps.” The Israelites were offering songs of praise to God but he would not accept it, because of their sins.

Just because someone listens to Christian music doesn’t mean that he is any more godly or a better Christian than someone else who doesn’t. What about the meat sacrificed to idols talked of in 1 Corinthians 8? 1 Corinthians 8:8 says, “But food (talking of food sacrificed to idols) (Christian or secular music) will not commend us to God; we are neither the worse if we do not eat, nor the better if we do eat.” I would even put secular music in there, because it is talking of food sacrificed to idols.

1Ti 6:17 says, “Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.” Now, I believe that this is right to the extent that it doesn’t go against God’s moral law found in his word.

**1 Corinthians 10:23, “31 Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

I think that as long as we listen to music to the glory of God, and it doesn’t go against God’s moral law listening to secular music is fine."

P.S. Another random question: what is your favorite food? And were do you like to eat out at?
