There and Back Again

One week ago today, Brooke and I went and stayed 5 days with my aunt and uncle that live down in Auburn. Yes, we did leave on Father's day. I hated to do that, but we did get to spend some time with dad that morning before we left. Originally we were going to take Dad's/my truck, but Saturday night when Dad and I went to fill her up, it started having some weird problems. So, we ended up taking the H2. Brooke actually drove it all the way to Auburn and back again! At first I was slightly concerned because she kept asking, "How am I on that side Holly??!"....and I just continually reassured her that she was doing fine. And I have to give her 2 thumbs up. Although there was one instance at a red light (why do people call it a red light even when it's not red?), actually it was a yellow light........well nevermind.
Anyway, we had a great time in Auburn (besides being outnumbered by all the Auburn fans).
Uncle Tony and aunt Ruby Lee actually gave us a tour of the campus of Auburn University (some Bama fans know it as the "Barn").
Some days, we went and stayed at their other house which is on Lake Martin. Some interesting facts about the lake I learned was: 1. It's 44,000 acres large. 2. It has 700 miles of shores line. 3. It's man-made. 4. It's like the third largest man-made lake in the world. Very interesting, isn't it? They took us for boat rides on the lake, which we really enjoyed! And the weather was just perfect. Also, we got to swim in the lake. The water was SO clear and beautiful. One time I was laying out it the boat as it was tied to the dock, and saw a big ole turtle swimming right out where we were swimming. Afterwards, that's just about all I could think of while swimming......turtles biting my toes off. I was exceptionally paranoid.
Wednesday night they took us to a play at in Auburn called "The History of America (abridged)".
It was a comedy. It was unlike anything I have ever seen! I laughed some, but Brooke seemed to think it was more funny than I did. She was laughing really hard. I got kinda turned off with some controversial jokes, and that can effect the way I feel about the actors. Overall, it was pretty stupid...and that was intensional. Oh yea and I just have to mention one guy in the audience had a really weird laugh and it was so loud that it overpowered everyone else's laughs in the whole audience. So at times Brooke and I were laughing at his laugh, not the play. I can still hear it now.
We had a great time with Aunt Ruby and Uncle Tony. I hope we can go back and stay with them again one day.

Friday, we came home, threw our stuff in the trailer, and headed directly back to Alabama.
This time the whole family went to Birmingham to visit my grandparents for the weekend. Can you imagine how tired I was that night? Drained. But anyway, that was a good trip too. We haven't been down there since Christmas, so it was really good to see everyone. Right when we got home today, mom says, "Hey, we're home just in time to make it to Sunday night church!".....lol.

"Good evening. On this news report we are sad to say that two girls who went swimming at 3 p.m. at Lake Martin have come up missing. The only remains are two torn up noodle floats which looks to contain turtle bites. Officials are still very confused..."

Ha, I couldn't resist. You were really freaking out after you saw that turtle...

LOL--That guy at the play had the funnest laugh! It sounded close to a turkey or something. I couldn't help to laugh!

Had a good time with you :-) Hopefully we can do it again some day.

Love you bunches,
Brooke.
