On this day, 7 years ago...

I remember September 11th, 2001. I remember what I was doing and how I found out that America had been attacked. I was doing my school-work when my mother's friend, Mrs. Marie called, and ask if we had seen what was on the news. We quickly turned on the Fox News Channel, and there I saw The World Trade Center up in smoke. I was confused, and very shocked that someone would fly a plane directly into a building like that. At the time I was only 9 years old, and had never heard of "hijackers" or "terrorists". Not long after, I witnessed the second plane collide into the south building on live television. It was disturbing, it was scary, it was a day that would change America. I remember hearing the news reporters say that there were brave firemen who were risking their lives by going into the buildings to rescue as many people as possible. Soon, time ran out, and the Twin Towers became Ground Zero. Over 2,000 people died that day. I will never forget that day. Remember today, September 11th, 2001.

Here's some live footage I found on YouTube from 9/11/01. It's still hard to watch, even 7 years later.

I was on my way to an Ambassador's meeting at the local Chamber of Commerce (COC). The radio was on a local christian station and they were announcing it. When I arrived at the COC I told everyone there and we turned on the TV, we all stood there in silent shock... your eyes are seeing, your ears are hearing but your mind just won't believe it. A tragic day in US history.

I remember the day as well. I remember not knowing what to think, especially when we witnessed the second airplane I think live. I was speechless.

Hard to think that was 7 years ago.

I don't really remember seeing the second one live, but I do know we were over in England at the time. Why would somebody give up their life for something with no meaning whatsoever?

Watching the video I knew that at the very moment the plane slamed into the World Trade Center that there was someone piloting the plane and lots of people, unprepared, lost their lives. Young and old alike I am sure. We must be prepared and know that we could be leaving this earth very soon, no matter how old you are.
