Your right Holly, he is mean. But what we need to do is come up with a different word than "mean", but one that means basically the same thing. Oh And it needs to be one he doesn't understand...lol.
First of all I really want to know who you are and who "Nick" is. How did you come by my site? Have we met? I don't appreciate anonymous comments. Your name is Kole, correct?
Secondly, I am not at all sure that engaging in discussion on someone else’s blog host is appropriate. I will consider ways to get you my contact information.
You ask a very good question that needs addressing in the mind of all Americans before November. Here are my thoughts and what I consider to be the truth:
First of all we must recognize that the Bible is the only perfect, inspired Word of God and is all that is necessary for us to determine truth. It is the all sufficient, never-changing standard that is “…profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Tim. 3:16)
With that said, we should also know that the issue of women holding public office is addressed in Scripture. Before I go any further, I would submit that perhaps Gov. Palin is a God-fearing woman. There are certainly things to admire about her. The question is whether or not her acceptance to the position of the Republican Vice-President Candidate of the United States is one that is in accordance to the Word of God. I would humbly say that it most definitely is not.
The Bible defines headship as that of a position held by a man, that is, male. In the very first book of the Bible, Genesis, we see that the woman was made of the man because after seven days of God saying “Let there be” and “It is good”, God saw that the state of Man’s being alone was not good. So he made for the man a helpmeet to complete him that they may together advance the Kingdom of Heaven, proclaim the Sovereignty of God, and take dominion over the earth. (Genesis 1:27-30 and Genesis 2:20-25) The Bible asserts that the order in which God designed man and woman establishes the order of headship. “For Adam was first formed, then Eve.” (1 Tim. 2:13) “For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man: for neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man” (1 Cor. 11:8-9)
Secondly, the Bible requires that leaders in the civil realm be men. Moses told the people to “…Take you wise men, and understanding, and known, according to your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.” The Hebrew word used here literally means “male” or “man”.
“When thou art come unto the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are round about me; thou shalt surely set him king over thee, whom Jehovah thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee; thou mayest not put a foreigner over thee, who is not thy brother. Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; forasmuch as Jehovah hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way. Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book, out of that which is before the priests the Levites: and it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear Jehovah his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them; that his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.” (Deuteronomy 17:14-20)
Again, it is obvious that the word “man or “men” in this text doesn’t mean “mankind” because the king is expressly forbidden to “multiply wives”.
Thirdly, the very thought of a woman in office contradicts the Biblical description of a virtuous woman. “But speak thou the things which befit the sound doctrine: that aged men be temperate, grave, sober-minded, sound in faith, in love, in patience: that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good; that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sober-minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed: the younger men likewise exhort to be sober-minded: in all things showing thyself an ensample of good works; in thy doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us. Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing to them in all things; not gainsaying; not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world; looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works. These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise thee.” (Titus 2)
Is this to say that a woman is never to leave the house? Of course not! It means that her duty before God is to further the work and vision of her husband. This is why men and women get married in the first place. If men and women could do everything by themselves, there would be no reason to marry. Men need women and women need fathers and then one day husbands. Why? Because women are more gullible and swept away with smooth words. Men have their problems too, don’t get me wrong. We struggle with visual sin, whereas women fall to words. It was the woman that sinned first, at the words of the serpent. I think it is reasonable to assert that this is a very real threat to the woman that leads a nation.
And fourthly, the Bible speaks of woman in leadership as a curse. “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them...” (Isaiah 3:12)
Here are my reasons for my extreme disappointment in not only the nomination but in the amount of Evangelical Christians who are actually excited about this.
We need to return to the Bible if we ever expect to see change in America again. This begins in the home and stems into all areas of life—including who we vote for. May we all seek the face of God in repentance and for guidance in the coming days.
Hey Holly! I know, I think Alabama is definitely going to do better this year! Well, I definitely want to pursue photography, but I want to use it more as a ministry, to bless people, and one day my ultimate dream is to become a wife and mom. And I am actually saving up for a Canon 50D, right now I have a Sony Cyber-Shot 8.1 pixels, and the Canon 50D has 15.1 pixels, so that would be a big step forward! I actually didn't design my template, I got it off of thecutestblogontheblock.com When I saw it, I was like "perfect"! I am so glad you are enjoying the blog, and thank you for your sweet comments!
I am not completely sure who you are asking about, but me (Nick) and Kole are two of the four posters on the blog Life Savior. I can ask Kole if he left any Anonymous comment on your blog.
Not a problem! I just think that anything worth saying is worth saying with boldness and authority. Christians are not going to agree on everything, but our differences should be made without worry of giving offense--speak with reverence and respect, yes, but timidness, no. But that's behind us. I want you to know that I have visited your site and am impressed.
So with that, let's start over; I'm Brantley Harris, I am a friend of Brooke and Holly from back home.
Did I address your (or was it Kole's) question 'bout women in office?

Did you see Sarah Palin's speech tonight? It was pretty awesome I think.

LOL, I think you were in the middle of changing it when I commented, because when I got back, it was changed again. Well, this one looks nice too!
I heard you and Brooke were starting a Bible Study. How is that going?
-Jordan
Sarah ripped obama!!! She was amazing!!
Brantley, I don't know if you saw my last comment, but I would like to know where it says that a women shouldn't be our Vice-President? Thanks!
Holly, would you like me to wait to post my thoughts on christian rock untill after you've posted on it? Thanks! Later!
All For His Son's Glory!

I didn't see all of it...... but what I heard was really good!
I have a question.
How many of you guys think I need to post?
-Jeremy

Jeremy, thats a pretty pathetic question.
